“Love seeks no cause beyond itself and no fruit; it is its own fruit, its own enjoyment. I love because I love; I love in order that I may love”

Bernard of Clairvaux

Loving God,

There doesn’t seem to be time to sleep, Oh Lord, not when we are waiting, not when we are watching. Certainly, not when we are preparing for…….You. How grateful we are to be recipients of your wonder! How we wait with anticipation for you to come to us. We pray that we don’t miss any moment of your presence amongst us, and we asked that we will be ready to receive your majestic self. Grant that we will prove worthy to welcome you into our midst. Help us to stay awake, Oh Lord. Help us to feel your warmth in a world that is chilled by winter’s frost, by separateness, by uncaring… Help us celebrate your love poured out, with the power to thaw the wicked and to melt any coldness of heart. We will wait in the daylight for a sign of you, and we give thanks in the night for your brilliance which cannot be extinguished. May we continue to sense deep within our being, a continuous, heart-felt faith, that stands us firm and moves us to be your light-bearers —in all the world. Amen

May this song help prepare you for Christmas. “Prepare You the Way.”
