“I will honor Christmas in my heart and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the past, the present, and the future. The Spirits of all three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach.”

Charles Dickens

Most Brilliant God, Holy Creator,

You have lit the spark within us, and you continue to light our way through the gloom which at times threatens our way forward. Your presence is dazzling, blinding, thus, there are times when we cannot see you working in our lives. We cannot see the goodness that you bring or the miracles which you make happen. We fail to notice your movements before us and around us. We cannot see the works that you do —through us. Oh Blessed One, you have reached out and you have touched us, time and time again. So, we ask that even when we are blinded by life’s hardships and turmoil, help us to feel the power of your presence, and your promise. Help us to know that you are with us, and grant that we may be assured that you will never leave us alone. With our faith and with the knowledge of your great love, let us come before you as people filled with hope, and a willingness to serve. We offer ourselves to you, Oh God, and we trust in your steadfast mercy and compassion. With anticipation in our hearts, we wait on you, Oh Holy One. Amen

May this song bless your journey to Christmas. “Light of the World
